As essential oils become more and more popular as people turn to natural remedies and  alternatives and complementary modalities to conventional medicine, the #1 question I get asked from my clients and my community is how to find the best essential oil brands? Read on to discover a certified aromatherapist’s recommendations for the best essential oil brands that I love!

If you’re anything like me, then you hate to go grocery shopping. I’m actually not sure why I hate it so much. Maybe it’s because I’m an introvert, so going out takes mental energy. Or perhaps it’s because it’s a little overwhelming to go and be surrounded by so many choices. Or maybe it’s because it feels like just one more thing on my list that I have to do.

At any rate, I’ve discovered some hacks to make regular grocery shopping less painful and less time-consuming! A double win.

5 Hacks for Painless Grocery Shopping:

  • Don’t do it. Kidding. But seriously do it online and have it delivered. My favorite service lately is Imperfect Foods. I can get organic fruits and vegetables delivered to my door. I like Imperfect Foods because I can pick my groceries out of their weekly selection if I choose, but I also could roll the dice and go with what they selected for me. So far, my experience with Imperfect foods hasn’t been perfect, but that’s OK with me. I have appreciated the quality of the food I’ve received, and their customer service has been excellent, so I’m happy. And to top it off, I’ve made it a routine to open the box with my toddler and put all the food away together. Join my free Facebook group: Energy Solutions for Natural Mamas to see a video of us opening my most recent Imperfect Foods box! It’s been so fun to see her excited about vegetables, and I love that we are building healthy eating skills at such a young age. Are you curious about Imperfect Foods? If you use this link, you can get $10 off your first box. And no, this is not a paid ad in any way, I really like Imperfect Foods, and it’s making my grocery shopping a breeze!
  • Try Click List. This is another easy way to shop online and make grocery shopping easy and painless. So many of my friends swear by Click List. Click List is a service offered by Fred Meyer, but many other grocery stores are also offering online shopping and pick up services. The fantastic thing about Click List is that it totally curbs impulse buying. So, you don’t have to worry about getting things that aren’t on the list. Impulse buying is where I tend to buy foods that aren’t healthy, so for me, online grocery ordering is a LIFESAVER!
  • Buy in bulk. When you do go grocery shopping, buy in bulk. Buying in bulk means fewer trips to the store. You can buy non-perishable items in bulk, and if you have a chest freezer, you can purchase meat in bulk. Buying in bulk can also save you money, which is another added bonus!
  • Grocery shop during off times. What I mean is that plan your grocery shopping trips during times that are less busy so that you don’t have to take as long working around everybody else. Going to Costco is terrible enough, but going on a Saturday morning with everyone else in creation is the worst. Plan your shopping trips in the early morning, during the day when most people are working, or in the later evening. Sunday evenings are usually excellent times as well. Pro Tip: Ask the Grocery Clerk at the store when the least busy times are so that you can know which times are the best for your specific store!
  • Shop at the Farmer’s Market. If you have a local Farmer’s Market, do your grocery shopping there. Turn grocery shopping into a family outing to the Farmer’s Market. Let the kids see and sample the offerings at the Farmer’s Market. This can be a super fun way to get your groceries for the week and a way to get the whole family involved. It is also a fantastic way to get excellent quality food. There’s a saying “Pay the farmer now or the Doctor later,” which can help to justify spending money on higher quality food.
